Time Out Tuesdays

Here's my spin on the Three Things Thursday Post now on Tuesdays!

1.  Marriage is for Losers

If you're married - or about to be (anytime this century) check out this article! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kelly-m-flanagan/marriage-is-for-losers_b_4369869.html?

2.  How to Make Your Work Day Go Faster

Most of us start our work week dreading Mondays, praising God that we've made it to Friday! (Been guilty of this some weeks but these tips really help you enjoy being at work and make your week fly by!) http://me.popsugar.com/how-to/How-Make-Workday-Go-Much-Faster-42469473 # 2 is my holy grail!
My afternoon must haves are : chocolate covered almonds and 100 ounces of water all day... which in the end gives me a reason to take a walk to the bathroom.

3.  Spontaneous Date Nights

As mentioned in a previous blog post that my hubby's work schedule limits our time together.  The days I'm at work he'll be off.  Last night after work, I planned on picking up some groceries for the week but we ended up at the movies instead. I love this new weeknight spontaneity in our relationship now!
Also - why are the trailers soooo long? My popcorn never even makes it to the actual movie ... #firstworldproblems

Its 2016 - Am I the only one who still saves ticket stubs?!

4.  :: Calling all Bollywood Fans ::

I saw Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - let me know your thoughts in the comments below if you've seen it. I was kind of annoyed in the beginning of the movie but {{ SPOILER ALERT}} SRK completely made my night with his surprise appearance for a whole 2 minutes.  Karan Johar you have rocked it one more time!! - The controversy over this and other movies with Pakistani actors has just rubbed me the wrong way - Fawad Khan had a small but strong role - why discriminate against great talent??  Aishwarya's come back was hot to say the least! Check it out if you love a Karan Johar movie !!

Aishwarya Rai | Ranbir Kapoor | Anushka Sharma | Fawad Khan

5.  Rose Gold Utensils - SAY WHAT?I temporarily lost my mind over these. How UHmazing would these look on my Thanksgiving Dinner Table?!

6.  :: Fan Girl Moment :: Sabyasachi for Pottery Barn!!
If you don't know who Sabyasachi is, please google him right now you are missing out on a legendary Indian Fashion Designer.  He just teamed up with Pottery Barn and even though none of the items match my white/gray home decor I could not resist ordering some statement pieces.

7.  Happy November lovelies!
Can you believe there's only two more months left in 2016?! The holiday season is right around the corner and I cannot wait to start shopping. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving but you know I'm counting down the days to the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday in the US / Boxing Day in Canada, etc etc)  Every Shopaholics Holiday! I know the day-after-Christmas sales are better but how do you just say no to all those "Deals of the Day" ?!
Side note - recently Confessions of a Shopaholic was on TV when I was flipping through the channels and I couldn't help but laugh because I saw a bit of myself in her, sadly!

Until next time loves.

Home Goods | Marshalls | TJ Maxx Haul

Last week I had a bit of extra time to hit up Home Goods, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls.  I love these stores but only like going when I have time to really walk the aisles and do some fab bargain shopping. I have never left any of these stores empty handed.  A large percentage of my tiny home is decorated with unique finds from Home Goods and Marshalls.

:: Check out the items I picked up this round ::

(( These mini pumpkins are from a local farmers market )) isn't anything mini automatically a must buy?

Dusty Rose - High/Low Sweater with a lace accent.  I'm wearing this in my Instagram post from Friday.  Check out @chroniclesofanewmrs if you don't already follow me.

So this picture does no justice... this a dull gold long semi-sparkly blazer - seriously reminded me of something Olivia Pope would wear - desperately waiting for Scandal Season 6 !!! Can't wait to do an OOTD post on this for you! Perfect for the upcoming holiday season :-D

Here's how I decorated a few of the pieces.  I just updated my dining table place settings for fall and I love it! All of the items in this picture are either from Home Goods and Marshalls (from previous seasons as well)

I'm working on a product review post but need some more time to actually test it out. Stay tuned to see how I use this mango-ginger-habanero glaze.  Anything mango flavored is usually a hit in this household.

PS - Shopping tip for ya'll I know we all wait for the sales to start but you should really check out some of the sales now - I've been finding some fabulous deals at all of my favorite stores, Saks, JCrew, The Limited, Pottery Barn, and West Elm to mention a few!

Tell me about some of your Shopping Finds :)

On Sunday We Brunch

My favorite part about Sundays is brunch.  It's safe to say we've turned Sunday brunch into some sort of tradition over the last two and a half years.  Hubby's new job only gives us two Sundays a month to enjoy this quality time and I'm still grateful because we've gone weeks in the past without having any days off!

We don't set alarms for these special Sundays, let our bodies catchup on all the rest they need... We'll slowly make our way out of bed and get dressed for brunch.  This week we decided to try this place Raymond's in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Followed by a trip to Trader Joe's.

If you know me or have been keeping up with my blog posts you know I'm not a fan of fall but warm chunky sweaters never fail me.  I decided to dress up my casual fall outfit with my Valentino's.  Yes - I'm just a tad obsessed with these shoes.

Sundays usually feel so short because they technically end at 6PM and that Monday reality kicks in.  We came home and meal prepped for the week, put away the laundry we did yesterday, and will catch up on our shows from this week.  How do you spend your Sundays?

NYC Business Casual OOTD + Fall Nudes

Recently I've been so obsessed with Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lips but all the colors I own are in some shade of pink | purple | red.  I've been longing for the perfect brownish-nude.  My last trip to the MAC store was a complete win - I came back with my second Spice Lip Liner (one of my absolute faves!) and a lipstick in the color :Peachstock.  Its a great fall nude for my skin tone, day or night.

Working in the city is one of the best parts of my career ... Walking the streets of this city whether it be 7AM or 7PM I feel like I always have to dress my best - you know live up to the "NYC Chic" standards.  I've been one of those girls ( I think I should start referring to myself as a woman or lady at the least! ) with a Mary-Poppins bag that weighed more than my left leg and 5 watermelons.  Commuting to and from the city has taught me become a minimalist at least Monday through Friday.  I'll do a full post on purse-downsizing later but this Tory Burch crossbody was a smart investment I made this summer and don't regret it. Is it not just the most perfect bag you've ever seen?! My husband may disagree but only because I can no longer throw the car keys or his phone in my purse on a night out but I love it!

Also - shoutout to my favorite Macaron Place on this planet.

As it gets chillier and (windier) I find myself reaching for warmer pieces like this blazer and these woolen pants but how can I not spice up my Business-Casual-Wednesday-Attire with my Valentino's?

My Fall Essentials + Casual Friday OOTD

So fall is in full effect and I've been MIA from the blog because I've simply just been depressed the last week or so.  The weather here in Jersey has been gloomy and cloudy and the sun finally came out yesterday and put me in a good mood again.  Scarves are probably the only reason I like fall (sometimes). I own a million and one scarves and love them because they're a great accessory that can add a nice oomph of texture or color and keep my neck warm.  The other great thing about fall besides Thanksgiving basically being around the corner is busting out the dark shades of lipsticks. One of my staples is Ruby Woo by Mac that I decided to wear today to match the heart on my sleeves {literally}

I love my Speedy 35 its probably the most used bag in my entire wardrobe and the one I care the most about as well - it killed me to put this on the ground.  I'll use this bag with pretty much any outfit - any season but I absolutely love using this bag during the fall - it fits all my essentials comfortably and the dark browns go with basically any colored outfit.

Fridays are casual attire at the work scene - I dressed up my "Wear My Heart On My Sleeves Tee" with this navy blue blazer - vest from White House Black Market paired with matte red Steve Madden flats.

My Favorite Nail Polish

If you know me - you know I am obsessed with my nails always being done. When I was younger it was my my favorite pass-time, paint my nails and then paint them again two days later, because we all know how long manis actually last ... When I started college I had little time to sit down and do my nails and as I entered my professional career I started getting my nails done.  I loved it, it was the best way to have some me time... and it still is my favorite thing to do ever - There's no better way to destress than on a pedicure chair with your feet dipped in warm water.

Ever since I've gotten married - I've taken my gels off and gotten them done again numerous times.  No matter how much you spend on "the best gels" they just aren't resistant to household chores and dishes.  And so I try just not to do the dishes but its inevitable haha. So today, I do not have gels. I've been painting my own nails for the past two weeks and have suddenly fallen in love with DIY manicures all over again.

For the past year or so I've found myself always getting some sort of nude. But who am I kidding? What color nude are we talking about? The Nude-Nude, the taupe nude? the mauve nude? the pink nude ? Believe me when I say it has taken me so many tries to finally find the right colors for me.  When picking your go-to-everyday-nail color you must take your skin-tone and undertones into consideration.  I always find that any manicure can be the cherry on my "ootd" cake but not if the color clashes!

And the past three times I've gone to get my nails done - it was the same color.  I'm a little obsessed to say the least.  Let me quickly explain - I've recently splurged on a pair of shoes that I've been obsessing over for at least the last two years.  This color isn't nude ..its the perfect blush pink color. { Also, now I need the matching bag hehe }  And now I have the perfect nail color to match my shoes.  I'm a happy girl.

OPI has been my go to brand for nail polishes for ages.  OPI has probably been the most durable nail polishes I own in terms of lasting the longest.  It was manicure Monday last week and although very slightly chipped this manicure has lasted over 8 days! They also have a great color selection and always gives a rich color quality.

Okay this post has become much longer than I planned for it to be.. Here are my two favorite , go to nude -ish colored nail polishes. Apologies! Both colors look almost identical in these pictures but scroll all way to the bottom for a swatch.

OPI - Samoan Sand
I've had this for a few years now, Its the perfect nude color for my skin tone and has tons of warm hues.  My hands are slightly darker/ more tan than the rest of my body and face. I blame it on all the UV I've exposed them to in the process of getting my nails done professionally. Again always consider your undertones and what hues any nail color accents or clashes with!

OPI - Tiramisu for two

If you don't know this already because I've mentioned it 12 times in this post - I'm obsessed with blush pink and this fits into my daily manicure needs perfectly. Even though fall is right around the corner. I'm probably going to be wearing this color all season because we all know I love summery even though this color has cooler undertones, it compliments my skin well!

The only downside is that this nail polish color comes out slightly different than the gel version of it that I get at the salons... I'm debating whether I should go back to getting my nails done (because lets face it - after taking my gels off my real nails are suffering terribly. I'm never going to get the stiletto nail shape with these weakling nails of mine.  I will end up going back to getting my nails done professionally I'm sure - it's just a matter of when.

Try these out let me know what you think! What's your favorite go-to nail color? Comment Below!

PS - this is post is 100% my opinion and I'm just sharing my personal obsessions with you.  This is not in anyway sponsored.

Three Things Thursday

one.     So... my heart was broken this weekend ....I went grocery shopping this past weekend and there was fall/halloween stuff EVERYWHERE! Everything pumpkin is back - Why oh why can't we wait until September 22nd (official start of Autumn) or even like in November? I know most people are ecstatic but this girl doesn't want summer to leave! Time to pull down the sweaters and boots and reorganize my closet - dresses and sandals you will be missed!

one a.   Speaking of Labor Day Weekend - I decided to wear all white at our family barbecue.  Thanks to my beautiful mamma's boutique for my flowy summery outfit. {Also my husband matched me - he's such a cutie}

two.      iPhone 7 pre-order tomorrow!! I will have had my iPhone for exactly two years tomorrow - it functions just fine but I'm bored and totally over deleting my text conversations and pictures in order to take more pictures :) so I will be one of those crazy people preordering my phone at midnight tonight =D

two a.   Speaking of iPhones, I was really annoyed when I couldn't delete the Podcasts app off of my phone. So it was immediately filed away in another folder along with my so useful "Stocks" and "Tips" {just kidding} under the label "Extras" - I don't think i've ever even opened any of these apps.  But I recently came across The Skinny Confidential - she has a great blog and posts some great snaps as well.  One of things I've been obsessing over recently is their His and Her podcast. Check it out if you haven't already.  Cheers to finally finding use for the Podcast app.

three.    I'm currently reading Mindy Kaling's "Why Not Me?" But I have these books in my amazon cart - I'm dying to read these!! But I refuse to order multiple books together because then I get distracted and never finish the one I already started.  Girl Boss, You are a Badass, and Leave Your Mark

three a.    I'm all about getting my hustle on and finding positivity and productivity in all aspects of my life right now.  If you don't know who Superwoman is you must check her out.  I've been watching her vlogs and am really trying to capture her positivity in my life as well.  I just preordered her book.

four.         totally unrelated - I wish my favorite sushi place as on grubhub/seamless/basically delivered all the way from the city. Okay bye.
